Chris Marrs Piliero takes us behind the crime sprees and ‘sexy time.’

Britney Spears and real-life boyfriend Jason Trawick go on a sexy crime spree in her new “Criminal” video, which follows the pair around London as they hold up banks and convenience stores in between NSFW scenes of the duo getting physical in their hideout.
MTV News caught up with the director, Chris Marrs Piliero, who opened up about casting Trawick and the video’s use of guns, leading us through the clip frame by frame.
The video opens with Spears and her rich boyfriend at a glamorous get-together. But things are not as pretty as the party itself. “So here we are at the fancy-schmancy par-tay, [and] one of my directions for her little turnaround reveal was in ‘Can’t Hardly Wait’ when Jennifer Love Hewitt … walks into the party. … The actor who plays her d—–bag boyfriend, his name is Freddie, and actually it’s his first acting role.”
Britney then goes into the lady’s room to cry about Freddie’s jabs at her, and when she comes out, she sees him flirting with another woman. “For this, I wanted to come up with a really cool line,” he said. “I was trying to come up with something that had attitude but was TV-safe, so we went with that,” he explained about Britney’s crack “So, you’re not working the street corner tonight, I see.”

When Britney does leave the party, dragged out by her boyfriend, Trawick’s bad-boy character comes to the rescue. “The punching was just awesome,” Piliero said. “We were watching that, and we were all looking at each other like, ‘Is he really hitting him?’ ”
Of course, Spears gets in her kick to his groin too. “I love her face when she goes for the kick,” he added. “She’s so good at delivering those fun lines.”
Eventually, Brit and Jason’s attraction takes over, as they share a kiss and then a whole lot more. “It’s time for sexy time,” Piliero joked of their naked romp. “So during the bed sex scene, the first take that we did of it, I let the camera roll. … From that point on, I was just calling out stuff, just directing them … and it was a really smooth, comfortable experience, actually. And Jason is ripped beyond belief. It’s kind of ridiculous.”
Britney soon gets caught up in Jason’s world of crime. Her first offense? Holding up a convenience store, where she also grabbed some vanilla candles, a nod to her real-life love of them. “There she is yelling at the guy,” he said. “That was fun. She really got into it.

“[The] slo-mo shot of them running out [was] very, very cool,” he continued. “I love when Jason just kind of throws the woman to the side.”
Between crime sprees, the two make time for a very revealing shower scene. “Sexy time in the shower, which is just super hot,” he said. “We did the shower scene after the bed scene.. so it was pretty painless and smooth.”
The video ends up with the cops closing in on the pair with a parade of bullets being shot into their flat before they make their getaway, driving off into the sunset together.
“We got a bunch of cops here ready to shoot,” he said. “Obviously, there’s a lot of crime history here. That’s why they’re ready to go crazy and fire on them. To me, it’s awesome to see this shot [because] this is exactly how I pictured it. Their kiss is magical and badass. It’s a really epic, cool-looking scene.”

On Monday (November 14), Lady Gaga and Laurieann Gibson confirmed their split, ending a creative partnership that dated back to the beginning of the pop star’s career.
Gibson first teamed up with Mother Monster in 2007, when the choreographer helped her most famous Dream Warrior with a live routine for her Fame track “Boys Boys Boys.” The two ladies shared a similar background, both drawing inspiration from the singer’s hometown of New York City, where Gaibson had arrived many years before meeting Gaga, hoping to make it as a dancer. In August, Gibson explained to MTV News that Gaga’s Nick Knight-directed “Born This Way” video was meant to pay homage to their love for the city.
“This was the place that we started. This was the place that birthed her. This was the place that birthed my dance,” Gibson told us. “New York just has something so real about birthing something specific.”
In the years since they first hooked up, the two women have forged one of the most close-knit, high-profile relationships in pop. Gibson has had credits on nearly every Lady Gaga video released so far, including “Poker Face,” “Just Dance,” “Telephone,” “Alejandro,” and “Born This Way.” But she has also worked closely with the singer on her live performances and massive stage shows.
Among members of Gaga’s elusive Haus of Gaga, Gibson is certainly one of the most public. Over the course of the past 12 months, the former “Fly Girl” rose to prominence thanks to her work as creative director for the superstar, starring in not one, but two, of her own reality shows: E!’s “The Dance Scene” and BET’s “Born to Dance.” And it was during this time that the duo showed the world what they could do as a pair, producing some of Gaga’s most talked-about creations, including the clips from the Born This Way album, which was released in May.
“I woke up one night and I got it and I said, ‘I got it: We have to birth a new race,’ ” she recalled to MTV News about the idea for the “BTW” clip. “As genius as [Gaga] is, she then begins to create all of these elements that make her Lady Gaga. When I saw the final edit, I, of course, was loving some stuff and then I was like, ‘But oh, here we go.’ It was brilliant. Nick is amazing.”
While Gibson was outspoken when she disagreed about a creative decision the singer made, she seemed to be always by her side, working on projects like Gaga’s Google Chrome commercial, which again pays homage to the star’s Big Apple roots. The HBO special “Lady Gaga Presents the Monster Ball Tour at Madison Square Garden” highlighted Gibson’s work as creative director and earned Gaga five Emmy nominations.
Laurieann also co-directed the “Judas” video, which she told us had left her satisfied. “I was able to sit in the director’s seat and fulfill our vision and see it all the way through. So at the end of the day, you saw how amazing she looks — beautiful — she’s dancing again,” Gibson said. “And it’s just great because I was able to produce the next level: who she is, how many levels she can go and the idea that this artist is a real artist and capable.”
Gibson was also onboard for the “Yoü and I” video, which was shot over the summer in Nebraska and features Gaga’s male alter ego, Jo Calderone, as well as some interesting “mermaid sex.” She also worked with Gaga on her performance art piece at this year’s MTV VMAs, where Calderone was on hand the entire night.
“The idea of her being a performance artist — and it’s starting the performance on the red carpet and the idea that the performance never ends for her — is the first time I’ve experienced this with an artist,” Laurianne explained at the time. “I love it. That’s something that is specific to her, and the whole night was the performance, and it was important that Jo was a part of the whole night.”

It’s not really a secret the Microsoft had planned on bringing bits of Windows Phone 7′s Metro UI to Windows 8, but we haven’t seen a lot of really telling evidence. However, with the Windows 8 milestone 3 build now available to Microsoft Connect partners, it was really just a matter of time before we started to get a peek.
Thanks to Rafael Rivera and Paul Thurrott, we’ve now had a glimpse at what the Windows 8 welcome screen will look like. As you can see, the typography is very Metro indeed. Within Windows also mentions that the background image is customizable, and we’re wondering if it might not pull from your current Windows 8 theme. This particular shot shows the CTRL + ALT + DELETE login option, but we imagine you’ll still be able to log in by clicking your account picture tile as well.
Rivera and Thurrott also mention that the tablet version of the welcome screen will allow you to log in by swiping a pattern on the screen — as you can on current Android devices.

The dedicated Kristen Stewart fans out there are likely very well aware that she wears colored contact lenses for her role as Bella Swan in the “Twilight” movies. And in “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2,” Stewart dons the amber lenses her co-stars Robert Pattinson, Ashley Greene, Nikki Reed, Peter Facinelli, Elizabeth Reaser, Jackson Rathbone and Kellan Lutz have been wearing for years as part of their official Cullen vampire clan costuming.
When MTV News caught up with Stewart recently, we asked about that experience and she revealed that, although she’s experienced with contacts, her new vampire ones weren’t much fun to wear.
“They are worse. The yellow ones sort of limit your vision even more, and so you feel a little bit more closed off,” she said. “That is one thing I can’t wait to say goodbye to, is the contacts. They just kill you. [They give you] dead face.”
Pattinson recently told us he was delighted that his co-star had to suffer with the rest of them. “She’s like, ‘I wear contact lenses. Why do you always complain about yours?’ ” Pattinson said. “When she finally wore them and then was complaining about them every second of the day, it was kind of satisfying.”
Stewart said the yellow lenses were totally worth the trouble, because she was so excited to play the vampire version of Bella.
“I’ve been waiting. To see her thrive anytime, it’s — she’s always so full of something that she knows, and it’s like, at this point, you finally go, ‘Oh, she was right,’ and she can also go, ‘OK, great, I’m not crazy, this was supposed to happen.’ ”
Stewart said Bella’s previous feelings that she was different from others are validated in the final film. “The whole vampire thing, I wasn’t excited to be white and all that; I was really more excited to finally get her there, because she wants it so bad.”
